About Me

Hi, my name is Tanesha Pitt. I am a contemporary String Artist. My journey into the world of string artistry is not just a career choice but a testament to resilience, transformation, and the ability to find beauty in the midst of life's challenges. In 2017 I was diagnosed with a benign tumor that was compressing my spinal cord that left me with progressive weakness in my legs, hands and slew of neurological symptoms. Through surgery, recovery, and relearning simplest tasks like opening doors again, I found a fierce determination within me that led me to living out my childhood dream of becoming an artist.

This journey led me away from the medical field and into the beautiful chaos of strings and nails. I discovered that if I could capture a person's essence with a pencil, I could certainly do it with string. So, I traded the my scrubs for an artist's apron and embarked on this incredible journey.

Each piece that I create is not just a work of art, but a piece of my story intricately woven into string. The rods and screws in my thoracic spine remind me of my struggle, and the beauty that can erupt out of chaos. After endless hours of hammering nails to create masterpieces, the irony of the screws that now hold my spine together makes me feel like one with my art.

My exceptional skills in creating hyper-realistic portraits have caught the attention of curators and collectors worldwide. I'm humbled by the recognition and grateful for the opportunity to inspire others with my work. What captivates them is my ability to utilize the straight lines of a string to create multidimensional masterpieces that not only appeal to the eyes but also touch the heart.

I look forward to continuing this journey, sharing my dedication, passion, and resilience through my art. Welcome to my dream come true, welcome to my second chance at life in abundance. I look forward to having my time, dedication, and hard work taking up space in your homes and heart. Let’s create beautiful art together. 💛

- With love, Tanesha
